September 2003
Examinations
As of the end of the May exam in 2003, we have 463 board certified Clinical
Neuropsychologists. Our next round of oral examinations is scheduled
at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center, in Chicago, on
October 24 & 25, 2003, and a full slate of 24 candidates is anticipated.
Due to administrative issues and need for timely completion of reviews,
we continue instituting a deadline for work sample submission in order
to be eligible for the oral exam. For the May, 2004 exam, the deadline
is set for February 6, 2004. Schedules for upcoming written exams, oral
exams, and work sample submission deadlines are now highlighted by a
separate link on the face page of our web site.
The
next written examinations will take place at the NAN meeting in Dallas,
on October 14, 2003, in Dallas. The written exam has been updated and
revised, with the new study guide addressing slightly revised general
rubrics. The study guide is now available on the AACN website.
Chris
Grote, at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s, continues to do a superb
job as Chair of our local arrangements and we will continue to hold our
exams there for the foreseeable future. Many thanks to Rush-Presbyterian-St.
Luke’s Medical Center for its continued support of our examination.
Web
Sites
The web sites for ABCN and AACN are regularly updated. This newsletter
and other news are periodically updated at the website while the directory
of members is updated continually as new information is received. In
addition, new continuing education opportunities are also highlighted
on the AACN website. Please note the second annual AACN meeting to be
held in Minneapolis, June 10-12, 2004. An extensive workshop program
is being arranged and board and committee meetings for both ABCN and
AACN will be held there. AACN will also hold its annual business meeting
as well. Registration information will be available on the AACN website
as soon as it is ready.
